southern arizona neuropsychology associatesDr. Sara Frye is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist. She received her graduate training at the University of Arizona, and completed her doctoral internship at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She has practiced in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and schools. Her background is unique in that she is trained in both pediatric neuropsychology and school psychology. Thus, she is knowledgeable about both medical diagnoses and educational classifications. Evaluations focus on identifying neurocognitive strengths and weaknesses, as well as assessing social, emotional, and behavioral functioning, to clarify diagnostic considerations and make recommendations for treatment. Dr. Frye is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arizona and has been heavily involved in research throughout her career. She has published numerous research articles and book chapters, as well as presented her research nationally and internationally. Her research focuses the neurocognitive, behavioral, and educational functioning of youth with neurodevelopmental conditions and chronic illnesses, and the influence of sleep and sleep disorders on the behavior and functioning of medically and non-medically involved youth. She aims to translate research findings into evidence-based practices to best meet the needs of the client. Clinically, Dr. Frye specializes in neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations, with an emphasis on autism spectrum disorder (including adults being diagnosed for the first time), attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, anxiety and mood disorders, behavioral disorders, brain injuries, genetic conditions, and implications of chronic illnesses (e.g., diabetes, epilepsy, cancer, etc.). She strives to recognize strengths associated with neurodivergence, as well as make recommendations to address related challenges. Her clinical work has been recognized at the state level as the recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Early Career Psychologist Award from the Arizona Psychological Association.
